We’ve been getting together at Duane’s Weights & Measures Sound Lab on the reg and the new material is, well, materializing at a slow and steady pace. Our good drummer buddy Chris Metcalfe (Lafayette, The Life and Times) helps out when David Silver is out of state and some monster tunes are shaping up.
The 30 year Anniversary In A Perfect World vinyl re-issue is out there in the wild in several different variants: Record Store day Blue, Spartan Records Dreamsicle, and Season to Risk exclusive copper black ice.
Speaking of David Silver, he’s been busy with his Drum Corpse protest record. This thing is a monster featuring some of the best drummers in underground music from bands like FACS, Pearl Jam, Failure, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Shiner, Dazzling Killmen, Spotlights and more. You support the music and the cause here.
Steve has a split EP coming out next month with his “Omaha Band,” Violenteer. It features two songs on each side w/ long time pals Alan Epley (Shiner, The Life and Times) and Ian Prince (Houston, sisters) project, Birdhands throwing down an intense and crazy cover of Jungle Boogie. You can catch Violenteer out west next month as well doing dates around the Ghost Canyon Fest.
Wade is keeping busy drumming for Starhaven Rounders and keeping the classic American soundbook alive, as well as building his secret synthesizer sound lair.
Ben is also a crazy good Sousaphonist, in case you didn’t know. His dixie swing group Grand Marquis are always getting in the van and heading off to some roadhouse. Keep your eyes peeled for them.
